Hola Chicas!
John Varvatos just launched his new fragrance for women. The signature scent, which launched exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue, will be available nationwide in a few weeks. The fragrance is made up of a fruity top note with hints of mango and apple, a floral middle note of jasmine and lily, and a patchouli and vanilla base. I kinda liked it upon initial sniff, but the longer I wore it the more it started to smell kinda farts-y. It doesn’t really smell as modern as I expected it to– it smells like something that’s been done before. However, I do LoVe the packaging, which is in one of this season’s hottest metallic shades–solid rose gold–and it has the signature John Varvatos curved shape.
*kisses*
P.S. Though I didn’t completely love the woman’s version, I have to say that the men’s John Varvatos Vintage smells great! I bought it for my BF this weekend and we both love it;-)
Hey Ladies, This spring’s hottest lipcolor shade? Coral! Whether in lipgloss or lipstick form, corals and oranges are the “it” shades for lips. My fave coral shade for all skintones? CK Calvin Klein’s New Delicious Pout Flavored Lipgloss in shade Burst. This lightweight formula adds lots of transparent shine with just the right amount of pop. So put that pink gloss aside for at least a day, and try a little bit of orange to spice up your spring wardrobe. *besos*

Hola Chicas! It’s time to put away those dark vampy nail colors that you’ve been rockin’ all winter long, and give your nails a breath of fresh air with shades of white. Chanel is one of many brands that’s introducing shades of white nail polish for this spring/summer season. I am a big fan of Chanel’s dark and inky nail polish shades of past seasons, and was very excited to try their new, lighter hues. I have to say though, I’m very particular about light colors and was very disappointed when their White Satin AND Blanc Ceramic both applied so sheerly. I think that if you’re gonna do white nails, then you’ve gotta go White Out opaque! Am I right or wrong? With that being said, I love Chanel for their fashion forward shades, but they didn’t do it for me with this one.*smooches*P.S. For that White Out opaque effect, try Essie’s nail polish in shade Below the Belt, or the classic…Fiji.
Hey Girls,
I’m sooooo excited that Spring is finally here! It couldn’t come soon enough!
So, many companies have already launched fragrances for the Spring hoping to capture the essence of the season. But none have made an impression on me like the new fragrance by French design house, Chloe. The new signature fragrance consists of a soft blend of peony, rose, and magnolia. I usually don’t go for florals, but this one smells so modern, and it has a bit of a sweetness to it. I’m absolutely in love with this fragrance! I got my free sample at SAKS last week and haven’t stopped wearing it since. I think I found my signature scent for the season!

Hi Girls!Shu Uemura has just launched a powder foundation in a classic compact. They’re claiming that the product is developed with sweat-proof ingredients derived from the deep sea, so color stays truer and your make-up can wear through humidity. It even contains SPF 20….sounds like this could be the foundation for the summer time! Now let’s see if a sister can find her shade. *kisses*

Hey girls, Looks like Urban Decay has also launched a Loose Powder Eye Shadow. I’m usually a fan of MAC’s Pigment eye shadows, but I thought I’d give this product a whirl since it comes WITH the brush. At first glance, it’s a really cute concept and package, but when I went to apply the product it ended up everywhere BUT on my eyes! The brush didn’t seem to pick-up much product to begin with, so when I tried to re-dip and apply, it made a mess. I also found that the brush splays (separates and gets unruly) with additional use. See now…that’s a problem. I love the product’s concept of pearlized powders that are derived from minerals, and that it contains no dyes or synthetic pigments, but if I can’t get the look that I want, then what’s the point?? Looks like I’ll be going back to my usual. *xoxo*
Hola chicas,I don’t know about you, but the eyes are MY favorite feature on the face to accentuate. And my eyeliner product of the moment is Guerlain’s Loose Kohl Powder eyeliner. Now, I’m usually an eye pencil kinda girl, but I love that this product smudges so well, making it super easy to create a soft and sultry smokey-eye look. Inspired by ancient Middle Eastern and Egyptian tradition, this product comes in a loose powder form, that’s housed in a vial with a rod (Yes, as in a stick) applicator, allowing for a precise application along the upper lash line and inner part of the lower lash line. Way, way back in the day, women from the Middle East and Egypt used a similar type of product to rim their eyes, and they still do the same today. However, back then they used a form that was made of ACTUAL COALS–I know… VERY scary! Guerlain has taken this concept and made a product that’s much safer, of course. And NO, the Guerlain product is not made with coals!! It’s made with pigments and pearls that you’d find in your usual eye shadow, but made them much richer so that they can work as liner shades. I usually use the Noir (black) shade, but they’ve just launched a Terracotta (bronze) shade, which i CANNOT wait to try. I think this may be my fave spring/summer eye liner shade!*xoxo*
Hey girls, Looks like MAC has finally launched their highly anticipated, limited-edition Heatherette collection! First Fafi, now this? I CAN’T TAKE IT! MAC has partnered with super-funky design duo, Traver Rains and Richie Rich, better known as Heatherette, for a fierce make-up collection. The collection includes two palettes designed to take your look from “Good Girl” to “Bad Girl” (move over Rihanna!), along with an array of lipsticks, glosses, blush, and eye accessories. For the most part all of the products seem to be made up of already existing formulas, with the exception of the dual-ended eyeliner. However, everything is pacaged in a hot pink case with holographic deco. Unfortunately for me, most of the products are already sold out on the MAC web-site. Looks like I’ll be making a trip to Saks tomorrow (Saks Friend, hope you’ve got a set stashed away for me;-)) Can’t wait to play!!!! *smooches*
Hey girls,Many of us know that using just a plain ol’ brow pencil to fill-in your brows, is not the most realistic way of achieving a perfectly groomed brow-look. That’s why I’m loving Urban Decay’s new Brow Box. They’ve basically taken all the essential brow tools needed to create the perfect brows, and put it in one compact little box. The kit includes 2 shades of brow powder to fill and shape brows, a wax pomade to set brows, a TWEEZER (Love it!), and an angled brush. I’ve found my perfect brow match in shade Brown Sugar!P.S. If you want a sturdier angled brush, you can toss the one that comes in the box and use MAC’s angled brush in #266. What would a girl do without the #266 brush?!?!?! *kisses*
Hola Chicas!Lancome’s Color Fever Shine Lipstick in Pixel Pink made its debut this month. This is the 4th limited edition lipstick in Lancome’s Pout-a-Porter series, where celebrity make-up artist, Gucci Westman Neville, collaborated with one of the season’s hottest designers, Thakoon, to develop a shade that was worn by the models during the designer’s Spring 2008 runway show. A pretty, sheer, raspberry-pink shade, Pixel Pink is sold only at Neiman’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Lancome boutiques, and on Lancome’s website. Word on the street is that there were waiting lists for past Pout-a Porter shades, and there may be one for this shade. Hmmm, it’s no Birkin bag, but maybe it’ll be worth something one day. *smooches*
