Hey ladies,
This isn’t the newest product on the block, but it’s one of my favorites! So, as some of you may know I got back from Mexico a little over a week ago, and my tan, or should I say my blackness:), is fading fast:( It’s always so sad when that starts to happen. It’s almost like your vacation bliss washes away with it. The same thing happened to me last summer after my trip to Jamaica. Luckily I discovered a wonderful bronzing product by Sue Devitt called Liquid Gold Coast: Bronzing Glow for face and body. I absolutely L-O-V-E this stuff! I’m not one to put a lot of bronzing lotions and things on my face because my skin is naturally so oily, but this is one that I swear by! This fluid formula is super light and blends seamlessly on the skin. You just add a drop or two (depending on how tan you want to look) to your moisturizer and mix the two together before distributing it evenly onto the face. It has a low level shimmer that’s just perfect to achieve that fresh, sun-kissed look.

I’m a huge fan of Giorgio Armani’s foundations, skin illuminators and highlighters. So I was really excited to find out that he just launched a new foundation primer called Face Fabric. I received a sample of it today in the mail and I have to say that I have mixed feelings about it. Overall it’s a great concept–fabric-like texture that provides a translucent color, which can be worn alone or under any foundation for a natural glow. It has a very lightweight, mousse like texture (think Maybelline’s Dream Matte Mousse formula). However, I found it blended unevenly onto the skin and didn’t give the smooth finish that I expected it to. The product comes in 3 shades- porcelain, apricot, and soft rose. I think I’ll put it in my kit and give it another try. I’ll let you know if I change my mind about it. *xoxo*

Benefit has got a new face product out called Erase Paste. Positioned as a brightening and camouflaging concealer, it’s housed in a pot and comes with a step by step guide on how to apply it for optimal results. My initial reaction upon playing with this product is that it’s really heavy and has somewhat of a tacky feel to it. Now, I have super oily skin, so I was not impressed with the texture at all. But the more I continued to rub it on the skin, I noticed that it broke down nicely and it does provide a great coverage level. Unfortunately, it’s not available in my shade, but I will have a pot of this in my make-up kit!
Hola chicas! So, a girlfriend of mine calls me today complaining about her new found dark under-eye circles and fine lines, and wanted my suggestion for the best illuminator to mask her problem. Instantly my first suggestion was Smashbox’s Aritficial Light Luminizing Lotion. Now, I realize that this product has been out there a really long time and there are many others out there that could do the job as well. But what I love about the Smashbox in particular is it’s consistency. Housed in a pump, this oil-free illuminator is fluid enough to blend seamlessly with your foundation or concealer, yet still provides just the right amount of coverage and pearl effect to get the job done. I love to use it on ALL skin-tones, because the color is so forgiving. The other plus is that it contains Japanese green tea, so it’s also a great anti-oxidant. My girlfriend has yet to try the product, but I’m sure she will not be disappointed! *smooches*

Hola! Make-up Forever just launched their High Definition Microfinish Powder, exclusively at Sephora. Like many other loose powders, High Def Microfinish is positioned as a loose powder that can either be used to set foundation or to be worn alone for a mattifying effect. The product is talc-free, so it provides a transparent finish on the skin. Making it a great product for a broad range of skin-tones. This product was also designed with Makeup Artists in mind….of course! It provides a soft focus effect for HD cameras and helps to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Can’t wait to try this product! They got me at talc-free and transparent color!! *kisses*

Hi Girls!Shu Uemura has just launched a powder foundation in a classic compact. They’re claiming that the product is developed with sweat-proof ingredients derived from the deep sea, so color stays truer and your make-up can wear through humidity. It even contains SPF 20….sounds like this could be the foundation for the summer time! Now let’s see if a sister can find her shade. *kisses*
