I’ve always been a huge fan of the double-ended lipgloss and teeth whitening products, and my first introduction to this type of product was celebrity dentist, Dr. Pia Lieb’s Sexy Smile. However, I didn’t totally love it because 1) it tasted nasty and 2) the pack would always bust open, because of the intensity of the hydrogen peroxide (which is the teeth whitening active). Well, Tarte has taken that same fantabulous concept and partnered with well known teeth whitening brand, BriteSmile, to achieve an oral whitener that works, and tastes good. It’s also breath freshening, so it’s really like a 3-in-1 product! The formulas are housed in a flow-thru, dual-ended pack, with a brush applicator on both ends. So the process is completely mess-free and hygienic, since you don’t have to double dip the whitener every time you put it in your mouth. Yuck! And though I’m goo goo over the whitener, unfortunately, I’m not a big fan of the tacky lipgloss. But who says you have to use the gloss that’s included? So I just substitute with one of my other fave glosses. Besides, who ever carries only one lipgloss in their purse anyway? Available in 16 shades, this formula is packaged in vial pack. According to the site (www.maccosmetics.com), the formula can be worn over lipglass, lipstick, or by itself to add dimension to the lips. I haven’t tried the formula yet, but you know I’ll let you know what I think as soon as I do! What I love about this product versus their Glossimer is that you get a lot more product deposit on the lips and it’s not sticky! Glossimer on the other hand, you’ve gotta dip the applicator like a hundred times before you get a good enough amount of product on the lips and I find the formula sticky. The Aqualumiere texture is super creamy, yet it left a super shiny wash of color on my lips, and the shade range is gorgeous! It provides a nice creamy cushion on the lips and lots of shine. MAC’s Slimshine Lipstick is essentially a lipgloss in a stick form. It provides the the sheer coverage, creamy cushion, and shine of a lipgloss but without the stickiness. Not only that, but because it’s in a stick form it’s less messy than a traditional gloss in a tube. Don’t get me wrong, I love my tube glosses, too. But this has been the best alternate for when I want to switch it up. It has such a creamy, bouncy texture that I find myself continuously applying it.
